Congratulations to Tom Romeo for winning a FedScoop 50 award in the Industry Leadership Category. The awards recognize the achievements of 50 of the Federal Information Technology community’s best and brightest leaders. Winners were determined by public vote and were announced on November 20.

As president of MAXIMUS Federal Services, Tom helps the company fulfill its mission to help government serve the people. Under his leadership, MAXIMUS introduced its strategy for outcomes-based contracting as a new way for the federal government to structure its contracts. Outcomes-based contracting helps drive innovative, cost-effective government IT services, equitable risk sharing between agencies and contractors, and measurable results for citizens. This strategy is poised to redefine the industry business model for both technology and services, and it has been warmly embraced by government leaders across many levels of federal, state, local and international government.

Tom has been a vocal advocate for this new approach to contracting, and has delivered multiple presentations on the issue to leaders at GSA, Dept. of Veterans Affairs, USCIS, and many more, working tirelessly to educate and build support. Tom has also been quoted and published in multiple publications, including American City & Country and Contract Management. He has demonstrated leadership that not only supports improved relationships between government and industry, but also delivers real results for citizens in need.

We are proud of Tom for being recognized as a private sector pioneer driving change in government IT.
