Did You Know?

Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a census to determine the number of people living in the U.S. The decennial census collects basic household information, as well as demographic information about each person living in the household. Federal law protects all the information collected. The data collected by the decennial census is used to determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives, make decisions at every level of government and distribute billions of dollars in federal funds to communities every year.
