Offer brighter futures for our most vulnerable populations
We help agencies identify, assess and advocate for individuals within their caseloads who qualify for disability benefits from the Social Security Administration (SSA). We also help individuals with disabilities pursue job opportunities that work for them.

Helping resource-constrained agencies protect vulnerable populations
With our one-stop Benefits and Eligibility Advocacy Services (BEAS) solution, we partner with agencies to identify and advocate for program participants who have disabilities. Our team brings a unique blend of conviction, knowledge, skills and experience.
Skilled staff and proprietary software
Our team knows and adheres to SSA operational regulations to ensure that all applicants meet SSA eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. Services include completing and submitting initial eligibility applications, providing monthly reporting on status of applications, and serving as a liaison to SSA – developing and maintaining a positive, professional relationship that expedites benefit decisions.
Extensive process experience
Our extensive experience in the SSI/SSDI application process mean we ensure every application is accompanied by all necessary medical and financial information. This removes the need for the SSA office to request additional documentation that can result in unnecessary delays to the eligibility determination process.
Advocacy that goes the extra mile
When necessary, we move quickly to assist with appeals and fair hearings. We are passionate about advocating for vulnerable populations, and our team brings a unique blend of knowledge, skills and experience that is unmatched by any other organization.
Assessment and advocacy services that empower individuals to succeed
Trust Maximus to deliver comprehensive services that facilitate better outcomes for individuals and their communities.
- Childhood SSI/SSDI Advocacy
Only about six percent of children on the rolls of the nation’s foster care system receive SSA disability benefits, reflecting the overworked and underfunded nature of most programs. Across the foster programs we support, we find that between 10 and 15 percent of children are eligible for SSI benefits, with nearly 7 percent eligible for SSDI benefits.
More than simply missing out on the opportunity to obtain additional funding to support these programs, this means many foster children with disabilities are not receiving the financial and programmatic benefits for which they are eligible, including Medicaid. Having these benefits represents an important lifeline for children as they age out of foster care.
- Child Welfare Eligibility Outsourcing
We have more experience providing Title IV-E, TANF, adoption assistance eligibility and SSI advocacy outsourcing services than any other organization in the U.S. We manage the entire eligibility recommendation process for our clients, combining best practices and technology with meticulous attention to detail to deliver strong performance and significantly higher approval rates.
- Adult Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) SSI/SSDI Advocacy
As many as 44 percent of adults receiving TANF report chronic health problems or disabilities. We help them receive the support they need to become self-sufficient, performing the necessary assessments to either match them with work they can successfully perform or help them apply for SSI/SSDI benefits if they cannot work.
- Homelessness SSI/SSDI Advocacy
Across the nation, homelessness is becoming an epidemic that we can no longer afford to ignore. On a single night, over half a million people go homeless, with approximately 65 percent found in homeless shelters and the other 35 percent found unsheltered on our streets. We can help this vulnerable population gain access to life-changing federal benefits that are vital to helping them get back on their feet and into safe living environments.
- Ticket to Work Program
Since 2000, we've partnered with SSA to help SSI/SSDI beneficiaries take advantage of choices, opportunities and supports to enter the workforce and stay employed. The Ticket to Work Program connects beneficiaries with free employment services to prepare for, attain and succeed in meaningful, sustainable work.
- Independent Assessments to Determine Care and Service Needs
Through our core assessment capability, we serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health diagnoses, and complex physical or medical conditions by helping them receive essential services and supports through expedient, accurate and trustworthy assessment services.
