    PREVIEW: AssessmentPro Next Steps

Developed from a solid foundation of health assessment service best practices, AssessmentPro already has a proven track record of process improvement in other states, where it has contributed to marked increases in effectiveness and efficiency for PASRR assessors, facility staff, and those we serve together across the state of Delaware. Here's a few basics to help get you acquainted with AssessmentPro, ahead of this month's training webinars including guidance on system account next steps and an overview of the system user roles available.

When should I create my AssessmentPro account?
System sign-up will be available after the upcoming training webinars on 6/09, 6/17, and 6/25. Once the sign-up process is announced, you will be able to go to the online application and set up your account. Before doing so, be sure to determine the appropriate account roles for your facility staff - see below. Stay tuned for a visual sign-up guide coming in communications later this month, which will walk you through a simple 3-step process for account setup.

What AssessmentPro user roles are available?
In setting up AssessmentPro accounts for facility staff, be aware that there are three types of AssessmentPro user roles. A facility can sign up individuals for multiple roles, but the first user to be set up must be the Administrator role. Once approved, the person(s) in this Admin role will then be contacted through AssessmentPro to provide approval for all additional user applications submitted for your facility.

    Administrator
This role must be set up first. Responsible for review and approval of all other facility users.
It's recommended that multiple Administrators be selected to ensure continuity.

    Clinical User
This role applies to individuals who can begin and submit a Level I PASRR screen.

    Non-Clinical User
Applies to individuals who can begin but cannot submit a Level I PASRR screen.

*You can sign up for multiple roles. For example, an Administrator can also be a Clinical User.

  • Delaware PASRR Program: Webinar Training Series Announced Ahead of Upcoming 7/15 Transition to Web-Based PASRR System

Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is critical to safeguard that each individual seeking admission to a nursing facility receives the care and services that best suit their needs. As announced earlier in May, the State of Delaware - Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DHSS/DMMA) is taking important next steps to continue improving this process for the vulnerable populations we serve by transitioning from the current paper-based PASRR system to a web-based system with new partner, MAXIMUS.

Scheduled for a July 15th launch, this transition will affect the processes for PASRR Level I Screens, Level II - Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Intellectual, Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), and Dual MI/IDD/Related Condition (RC) Assessments.

Training will be a critical component toward ensuring that your facility is prepared for this important change. With that in mind, we're excited to share some insights below into expected benefits of the new system, as well as details on the first of several upcoming webinars coming soon, Help Desk contacts, and background on State partner, Maximus.

    BENEFITS: Understanding the Changes Ahead

Built on a solid foundation of state and federal best practice recommendations, the new web-based PASRR system launching on 7/15 will provide a number of benefits from the current paper-based system. Most importantly among these are assessments that paint a more consistent and well-defined picture of each individual's service needs.

A few of the key benefits for providers and other system users include:

    1. Online Referral Submissions

Level I PASRR submissions will be submitted directly in the web-based system.  Necessary documents can either be uploaded in the system or sent in using a QR code fax form, rather than manually faxed in using the submitter's own cover sheet. Use of the QR code saves time, and it also ensures better HIPAA compliance.

Tip: Submitters can still include their own fax cover sheets, but the QR code should always be the first page of the fax.

    2. Extensive Support Resources

Providers will have access to a large array of detailed system training and support materials behind the system login.

NEXT STEPS: Training Opportunities Coming Soon!

The State of Delaware DHSS/DMMA and your new DE PASRR support team at Maximus are excited to kick off the first in a series of new learning opportunities taking place throughout the implementation process, followed by post-launch support sessions. Join us on Tuesday, 6/09, Wednesday, 6/17 and Thursday, 6/25 for insightful webinars covering a wide range of topics including:

    • PASRR Overview
    • Level I Walk-through
    • System Basics
