For 50 years, Maximus has been dedicated to improving lives through innovative solutions and compassionate service. We are proud of the individuals and families we support and honored to be part of their journeys.

Maximus delivers innovative business process management, impactful consulting services, and technology solutions that provide improved outcomes for the public and higher levels of productivity and efficiency of government-sponsored programs.

When Maximus first opened its doors in 1975, it set out to change how government services were delivered. We recognized early on that real impact required more than efficient systems; it required treating people with dignity.

At a time when many government offices felt cold and institutional, Maximus reimagined the service experience. We created welcoming and respectful spaces where individuals seeking support could feel seen and heard. Staff were trained to meet people where they were, providing thoughtful assistance to those navigating complex life transitions, such as reentering the workforce or applying for benefits.

From offering a warm cup of coffee to hiring former program participants as case managers, our approach centered on empathy, comfort, and confidence. Qualities that helped transform lives.

Fast-forward to today, and Maximus is a global organization with over 40,000 employees worldwide. Our mission remains unchanged: deliver programs that matter, with people at the center.

While our capabilities have expanded, from in-person services to advanced digital platforms, our commitment to the human experience is stronger than ever. We support agencies with everything from secure technology infrastructure to personalized customer journeys that anticipate needs and remove barriers.

In New York, for example, we helped streamline access to health coverage through mobile tools, making it easier for families to enroll in care. With the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), we’ve enhanced data security to protect personal and financial information at scale. These aren’t just technical wins, real-life improvements impacting millions.

Even as we adopt artificial intelligence, automation, and other cutting-edge tools, our compass remains fixed on the people behind the programs. Every touchpoint, whether digital or in-person, is an opportunity to make someone’s experience smoother, safer, and more empowering.
