Professional development opportunities

It is important to us that employees feel supported in their professional growth. We offer multiple opportunities for staff to expand their skills and knowledge. We want our employees to have a career, not just a job. And we want to support staff as they transition into new positions at Maximus and learn new skills.

Once a full-time, regular employee has been at Maximus for one year, they are eligible to receive annual reimbursement of up to $5,250, effective January 1, 2025, for courses and certifications that support their career development. Reimbursable expenses include tuition, fees, books, and software.

We offer workshops and webinars with experts, providing employees opportunities to network, learn, and earn professional education credits.

The primary goals of Moving Our Talent Forward are to enable employees to move seamlessly between contracts and projects internally and to help them develop the skills and competencies needed for future roles. This will allow us to move toward a company culture that emphasizes collective talent (regardless of project or business function) and supports employees during every phase of the employee lifecycle.

Our internal communities foster knowledge sharing, skill development, and a sense of connection among employees across various expertise areas.

We offer targeted programs to develop future leaders, providing mentorship, training, and opportunities to build essential leadership skills.

This program equips new leaders (new to Maximus or promoted to a leadership position) with the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources to lead their teams from day one. The program fills a critical gap for new leaders and provides them opportunities to network, access best practices, and support as they start their leadership journey.

This program is a customized, collaborative, and personalized learning experience to leaders nominated by senior executives. The program works with our succession planning process to identify and develop Maximus’ future leaders, ensuring the company continues to move forward and maintain its competitive edge in an evolving industry.

Our alumni network keeps former employees connected, fostering ongoing support, networking, and collaboration opportunities.
