Black Alliance ERG member, Gerry St. Louis, reflect on first year
How long have you worked for Maximus, and what is your job?
Gerry St. Louis: My career with Maximus started in 2013 with the New York State of Health project. I’m currently a Contact Center Director.
Why do you think it’s important for companies to invest in a DE&I strategy?
Gerry St. Louis: I think it makes a company stronger by focusing on including every member of their workforce. No two people are alike. We all have different skills, experiences, and insights. If we can tap into that, I believe it sets the stage for all of us to be successful – employers and employees.
Why did you join the Black Alliance ERG?
Gerry St. Louis: To learn and share experiences.
What’s the most exciting experience you have had as a member of the Black Alliance ERG?
Gerry St. Louis: Learning more about Juneteenth’s significance.
What’s the biggest impact you think the Black Alliance ERG can have on Maximus and/or the community?
Gerry St. Louis: It provides a safe space where people feel more inclined to share with others. As a result, we will be able to learn and support one another.
