Four years ago, when we first launched Maximus’ wellness program, our goal was to create resources that were flexible, affordable, and accessible to support our employees and empower them at every stage of their health journey. Though the COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching consequences and presented numerous physical, emotional, and financial challenges, the time and effort we invested in our wellness program have enabled us to meet these challenges directly.

That’s why I’m thrilled to share our 2022 U.S. Employee Health and Wellness report. The report highlights Maximus’ wellbeing benefits and details the critical enhancements we’ve made to the program over the last few years, which include the following:

  • Improving our mental and emotional health resources with free on-demand content and mobile-accessible programs such as Headspace, Wellbeats, and Aduro Coaching
  • Expanding our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through LifeWorks, which provides free, confidential support to employees and their families 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Creating a dedicated wellness page on our company intranet that gives employees quick, centralized access to wellness benefits, topics, and resources
  • Hosting virtual and in-person wellness fairs to educate employees about the various benefits available to them

Since launching our wellness program, we’ve measured a 5% increase in enrollments in our company medical plans. At the same time, we remain committed to supporting the entire Maximus community where they are, so we offer free resources to all employees as well as additional options available to employees enrolled in a medical plan.

The 2022 Wellness Report tells the story of where we started, where we are now, and how we’ve adapted to unprecedented health challenges. We regularly seek employee feedback and evaluate our wellbeing resources for areas where we can improve. As we consider additional enhancements, we commit to ensuring our wellness program remains focused on strengthening emotional and mental health resources while being accessible to all employees.
