Medical providers play a crucial role in helping SSA’s Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) make important decisions about disability.
Maximus, one of the largest providers of government-sponsored benefit appeals programs in the United States, is recruiting Medical Providers to present evidence either at hearings (via the phone) or through written interrogatories for claimants appealing denial of certain SSA benefits. This program serves residents on the East Coast from Maine to Puerto Rico. Our objective is to ensure the best possible outcomes for citizens and government by rendering accurate decisions quickly.
Maximus is looking for both English and Spanish-speaking Medical Providers in multiple specialty areas to present impartial expert opinion evidence that ALJs will consider when making life-changing decisions about disability.
Medical Experts will be asked to provide impartial expert opinion evidence by telephone or in writing to support benefit determination decisions.

This process also includes fingerprinting and a background investigation by the Center for Suitability and Personnel Security (CSPS). Obtaining favorable suitability will enable Medical Experts to provide impartial opinion evidence for the cases they will be asked to support.

Receipt of these items will start the formal processes for obtaining suitability, which takes approximately 30 days after fingerprinting. From there, Maximus will guide you through the remaining application documentation requirements.
