Awilda Martinez

Senior Managing Director, Health Solutions and Clinical Services

Awilda Martinez brings more than 25 years of experience in health and human services programs at the state and local levels. As senior managing director, she oversees a portfolio of health-related projects across New York and New Jersey.

Responsible for the operation of some of the largest government health programs in the nation, Awilda’s expertise includes Medicaid policy, home and community-based services and supports, managed care, long-term care, provider profiles, state-based marketplaces, and clinical assessment operations. With deep knowledge and experience in aligning policy and operations, she works with our state clients to implement large-scale public health programs, expansions, and reforms resulting in greater access to healthcare services for populations with complex needs, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the aged, blind, and disabled.

Awilda joined Maximus in 1998 as a community relations manager for the New York Enrollment Broker Program (also known as New York Medicaid CHOICE), where she was responsible for ensuring that statewide initiatives were inclusive and accessible to millions of people across urban, suburban, and rural communities. Prior to joining Maximus, she spent three years of her early career working in the New York State legislature.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and history from the State University of New York at Albany and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University.
