As managing director of clinical services, Joi Shaw has an eye toward efficiency and quality, overseeing program operations to deliver on contractual obligations and consistently offers value-added components. She brings programmatic subject matter expertise to projects that provide statewide functional psychiatric, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and medical screens and assessments of individuals entering nursing facilities. She leads a team of clinical professionals who bring a person-centered approach to delivering PASRR, SIS, ICAP, and other assessment protocols.
Joi joined Maximus in 2014, supervising PASRR operations that help ensure people are not inappropriately placed in nursing facilities for their long-term care. Since then, Joi has grown our clinical services footprint, providing oversight and support to PASRR assessments in nine states. She is also a long-time board member of the National Association of PASRR Professionals.
Motivated to drive systemic change, Joi collaborates with state agencies to create a system of services and supports for a broader population of aging adults, persons with disabilities, and adults and children with complex health needs.
Joi holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master’s degree in business management from Argosy University.
