Award-winning digital solutions help Pennsylvanians enroll in Medicaid

We recently won several digital innovation awards recognizing our efforts to enhance the customer experience for the Pennsylvania Enrollment Assistance Program (PA EAP). We support the PA EAP by helping people who qualify for Medicaid choose the right health plans and providers to meet their needs through innovative, high-quality customer service.

Mobile app simplifies enrollment

The Pennsylvania Enrollment Services mobile app provides a convenient, self-service tool for Medicaid enrollment. The app streamlines the process by allowing users to compare health plans and find providers directly from their smartphones.

We applied human-centered design and a plain-language approach so people could use the app to manage their coverage faster and more easily. They can compare health plans, enroll or change plans, find or change primary care providers, get directions to nearby providers or hospitals, and access important information in English or Spanish. Since its launch in 2022, the app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times.

Website enhances user experience

The Pennsylvania Enrollment Services website offers people an efficient way to learn about their benefits, find providers and health plans, and enroll in or change a health plan. It includes a robust list of frequently asked questions written in plain language to provide clear and actionable program information, available in English and Spanish. And we designed the site to ensure digital accessibility for all users, including individuals with disabilities.
