Prevent payment errors in real time with Accuracy Assistant.
How can errors be identified early?
Before the eligibility review process begins, Accuracy Assistant leverages historical program error data patterns and state rules to determine an error-risk profile for each case. It evaluates the existing verifications on file to identify critical case documentation that requires action. In addition, it identifies inconsistencies between the verification documentation and the data used to determine eligibility before issuing benefits.
How can eligibility workers prevent errors?
Our smart technology works side-by-side with your eligibility staff to increase accuracy at every step of the eligibility process, before benefits are authorized. Accuracy Assistant provides staff with access to policy and procedure guidance while processing cases. It helps staff prepare for and conduct guided interviews, and it provides automated quality assurance to detect data inconsistencies for correction or additional review.
How does this solution improve outcomes?
Accuracy Assistant strengthens existing efforts to reduce payment errors by focusing attention where it matters most. By flagging high‑risk cases for additional review without slowing low‑risk work, our solution improves accuracy while maintaining timeliness. Real‑time dashboards give state leaders visibility into error trends, supporting performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

A measurement of how accurately states determine eligibility and benefit amounts for applicants.
Upcoming federal changes require states to fund a portion of the SNAP benefits based on their payment error rates. States with error rates exceeding 6% will pay a progressively higher share of the benefit costs starting in October 2027.
Households must have the opportunity to participate in SNAP within 7 days of the application date for expedited cases and 30 days for regular cases. An application processing timeliness rate of 95 percent and above by states is considered acceptable by federal standards.
