Whitney Hines
Recruiting Specialist, Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Whitney Hines started her career on the project in 2013 and is now a recruiting specialist working with potential new hires and community partners. She said she loves how this role gives her the opportunity to represent Maximus in a positive light and share her own story with the hope that someone else will be inspired to stay and grow with the company.
How did you start with the project?
I started as a limited-service customer service representative (CSR) during the peak season of the project.
How has your career progressed since joining the company?
Once my limited-service assignment ended, I applied to be a quality specialist. From there, I moved to a supervisor, manager, and my current role, recruiting specialist.
What impact has Maximus had on you?
No matter the role, I always looked for opportunities that aligned with the direction I wanted to go. I asked questions, created a plan, and took on tasks that allowed me to highlight my pre-existing skills so that I was ready to advance when positions became available. Doing so allowed me to gain experience that later helped me in my varying roles.
As a single mother, I am also thankful for the work-life balance Maximus has provided me. Having a set schedule with consistent hours and good pay has allowed me to plan for appointments and school events.
